The Pisconeri family headed by Mr Nicola Pisonceri and Mr Joe Pisconeri established their roots in Western Australia in 1949 with the opening of a continental delicatessen. This expanded to become the first coffee lounge in the Perth area in the mid 1950s. A partnership was formed in 1962 and in 1976 Pisconeri Wholesalers Pty Ltd was incorporated.
The Pisconeri families were one of the first continental suppliers of gourmet food products, coffee and ice cream to the WA community. Its base was in an area now known as Northbridge, which was a focal point for the migrants arriving from Europe, and became the centre of European culture and cuisine.
Over the past 40 years, the company has established a solid rapport with both suppliers and retail customers with continental products and has been recognised as selling unique European food products of quality and at a competitive price.
Today the company has a total staff of 24 people, including 6 sales representatives and 5 delivery vehicles, many with more than 20 years experience in the industry.
Our sales team covers most of the metropolitan area and also the major country towns outside the Perth area. Within the city we supply the foodservice industry covering cafes, restaurants, pizza bars, the major hotels, liquor stores, the major chain stores such as Coles, Woolworths, Newmart, Foodland and Action supermarket groups.
The variety of imported products covering foods, wines & beers ensure that our spread of customers also include other wholesalers requiring our brand lines which are exclusive to our company.
The company directors travel to Europe and South East Asia on a regular basis to ensure we continue to expand the range of products available outside Australia. We also ensure that we strengthen the bond with our overseas suppliers so we receive the best service of quality product and at a competitive price.
